The Race for Vocations takes place within the One America Festival Mini Marathon and 5K each May in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.
Sponsored by the young adults of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, the Race for Vocations welcomes people of all ages to run/walk in the mini or 5k to both promote and pray for vocations to the priesthood, religious life, sacred married life and sacred single life.
Hundreds of participants pray while they train, attend the Mass for Vocations and Pasta Dinner the Friday night before the race and then run/walk in the mini or 5K. The participants wear cool vocations runners shirts that create a greater awareness of Catholic vocations.
The race began in 2008 and since then we have had literally thousands of prayers offered and hundreds of race participants.
Please join the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, Diocese of Lafayette and Diocese of Evansville this year as we Race for Vocations by, “competing well, finishing the race and keeping the faith.” II Timothy 4:7!

START HERE AND REGISTER
- Register on-line at www.500festival.com to walk or run the mini (13.1 miles) or 5 k (3.1 Miles)
- Join the Archdiocesan team and walk or run with us by by clicking here, There is no charge to register with the Archdiocese. Race for vocations T-shirts will be provided for all, sponsored by the Indianapolis Serra Club.
- Encourage your family and friends to run or walk with you and send them to this web site. (Print out a flyer here)
PRAY
- Pray for vocations while you train. Example: pray a rosary each time you run in prep for the mini and offer it up for vocations.
- Ask for commitments of prayers for vocations from your family, your friends or your parish!
JOIN US FOR THESE EVENTS
- Mass for Vocations on Friday evening, May 7th, 6:30 PM, at St. John’s Catholic Church, across from the mini-marathon registration site. You can pick up your packet and come to Mass!
- Pasta Dinner following Mass
- Post Race Gathering at the Race for Vocations tent!
