Baccalaureate Mass - Sunday, June 3 at the 10:30 a.m. Mass
High school seniors are welcome to attend the parish's annual Baccalaureate Mass. Seniors are asked to wear their cap and gown to Mass to be honored for their achievements by the parish community and receive a special blessing. Bible Study Group - Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in St. Brigid room
Looking at something new to begin this summer? How about taking a deeper look at Scripture and sharing about stories from the Bible with fellow parishioners and friends. There are several bible study opportunities at St. Alphonsus with different topics, styles and supplies for parishioners. This Monday group offers a great way to begin your week with the Word of God. Swing by and spend an hour with Scripture and friends. Bibles are even available if you happen to forget your own.
Embrace Life Committee - Tuesday, June 5 from 7 to 8 p.m. in St. Robert Room
The Embrace Life Committee meets monthly to plan family-friendly activities as a way to promote the dignity of all human life. Feel free to join them at their next gathering in the reception room inside the church and learn what new activities are being planned for parish families.
Daughters of the Immaculata - Wednesday, June 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the St. Robert room
This high school girls ministry meets regularly to plan outings and opportunities while keeping an active role serving the parish in many ways. Join these young ladies as they continue to grow in holiness together.
Catholic Inquiry Night - RCIA - Wednesday, June 6 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the reception room
The RCIA program continues to offer a comfortable and casual gathering for those who have questions about the Catholic Church or who are also interested in converting to the faith. Blessing & Commissioning of EMHC - at weekend Masses June 9 and 10
This weekend, more parishioner volunteers will be commissioned and blessed to serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC). This liturgical ministry is a beautiful way in which individuals may participate in Holy Communion by helping the priest distribute the Body and Blood of Christ. Volunteers also assist in the purification of the sacred vessels after Mass. Pray and see if God is calling you to assist in this special way. Volunteers receive special training and individuals only need to be at least 16 years old and have received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Young Adult Book Series - Thursdays on June 14 and 28 at 7 p.m.
Continuing through June is the parish's young adult book series. All young adults who are 18 to 35 years old are invited to jump in and join this exciting and fun group. This special book series covers topics inside, "Divine Therapy and Addiction, " by Fr. Thomas Keating. Young adults are welcome to join these casual gatherings as they bounce around different host homes. Catholic Heart Workcamp - Sunday, June 17 to June 23 in Toledo, Ohio
High school youth are taking off for their annual service trip to Toledo, Ohio where they will work to serve others in need through a mission trip experience known as Catholic Heart Workcamp. Haiti Walk for Water Event - Thursday, June 21 from 6 - 8 p.m. at ZMS track
The parish Religious Education program is planning a special family-friendly event for kids to learn more about their young peers in Haiti and the challenge their families face finding clean drinking water. This informational and fun event is a walk where each family registration will help provide a water filtration system for a family in Haiti. "COFFEE," Catholics Offering Faithful Friendly Experiences and Examples, presents a special group book studies with conversational gatherings. Parents are welcome to attend and bring their favorite coffee mug or brewed beverage while building community and growing spiritually.
