This year’s Paschal candle was designed by parishioner Jessica Bohrer using acrylic paints on canvas, which she wrapped around the candle.
The cross is centered with a band depicting thorns at the top and a band of roses at the bottom. These details were chosen to represent the thorns surrounding the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the roses that surround the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The cross is painted silver with a band of gold on a background of blue, and bordering bands are done in a palette of green, burgundy and gold.
Many thanks to Jessica for sharing her beautiful artwork!
